At The Cyber Helpline, we're on a mission to provide vital support to victims of cybercrime. But we can't do it alone. We need the support of the broader CyberSecurity, IT & tech industry to join us in our efforts. One powerful way you can help is by contributing to our fundraising initiatives. Your assistance will not only help us extend our reach but also provide much-needed aid to those in need. In this blog post, we offer some creative fundraising ideas that also promote team building.
Fundraising Ideas
1. CyberStrides: 🏃♂️ Encourage your team to take part in CyberStrides, where they commit to walking 10,000 steps a day for one month. Not only does this promote physical health, but it also raises funds for cybercrime victims. Every step counts, and your efforts can make a real impact!
2. Code for a Cause: 💻 Put your coding expertise to good use by challenging your team to contribute to open-source projects or develop tech solutions directly benefiting our cause. Fundraise for each milestone achieved, turning your coding skills into tangible support for cyber victims.
3. CyberRace: 🚴♀️ Take on a 5k run or bike race either individually or as a team. You can set up your own race or join a local one, pushing yourselves physically while raising funds for a worthy cause. Seek sponsorships from colleagues, friends, and family to maximize your impact.
4. CyberQuiz: 🧠 Host an office or online cybersecurity quiz during lunchtime or after work hours. Charge an entry fee, and donate the proceeds towards supporting victims of cybercrime. Not only is this a fun way to engage your team, but it also raises awareness about cybersecurity best practices. We'd be delighted to assist in hosting this event!
5. Get ideas from your team! Involve your team in the decision-making process by encouraging them to propose and vote on fundraising activities they'd like to participate in. This ensures maximum engagement and enthusiasm from everyone involved.

Example from our Cyber Partner: Saepio
Saepio has been participating in ‘Tough Mudder’, a hardcore obstacle course and mud run, raising in excess of an amazing £2,000 annually.
The company has hosted a Christmas auction in 2023, raising an incredible £6,100 for our cause.
As of 2024, a total of £15,778 has been raised since 2020, with more and more Saepio team members taking part in fundraising activities every year.
