About Us

Closing the gap in support for victims of cybercrime, digital fraud, and online harm

The Cyber Helpline began in 2018 with a clear mission: to fill the alarming gap in support for victims of cybercrime, digital fraud, and online harm. Recognising the inadequate response to the growing threat of cybercriminals, we united as a charity with a movement driven by the cybersecurity community, responding to the urgent need for better protection for individuals and families.

We saw firsthand how cybercrime deeply impacted lives—whether through cyberstalking, hacked accounts, fraud, intimate image abuse, or ransomware. The financial and emotional toll is devastating, yet many victims are left to fend for themselves against skilled, malicious attackers.

Determined to change that, we created a unique model that taps into the expertise of cybersecurity professionals. By offering a free 24/7 self-help service and a confidential helpline, we empower individuals and sole traders to understand, contain, and recover from cyberattacks.

Since our founding, The Cyber Helpline has supported over 800,000 people globally, with our helpline directly assisting more than 60,000 victims across the UK and the USA. Every day, we strive to ensure that individuals affected by cybercrime receive the support they need to navigate and overcome these challenges.
