Alex wins prestigious Digital Volunteer Award

We are delighted to announce that one of our incredible volunteers, Alex Bilsland, has been awarded the prestigious Digital Volunteer Award in the Tech4Good Awards.

Alex has spent years volunteering at The Cyber Helpline and has supported hundreds of victims of cybercrime & online harm in that time. He has also been a key driving force in creating a unique training programme to enable other cybersecurity professionals to volunteer their time to support victims. He has had a significant impact on our ability to deliver our service.

The Tech4Good Awards, held annually, celebrate and recognise the remarkable achievements of organisations and individuals who leverage technology for the greater good. In an ever-evolving digital landscape, these awards shine a light on those who are using technology to make a positive impact on people's lives and the wider society.

All shortlisted finalists have demonstrated their commitment to leveraging technology as a force for good, addressing societal challenges, and empowering individuals and communities. Each finalist has showcased innovative approaches that use technology to drive positive change and improve lives.

The winners were decided by a panel of global experts and were announced in person and online at a glittering awards ceremony in London on 22 June 2023.
