The Cyber Community Trust
Not enough is being done to support victims of cybercrime
We estimate there are around five million victims in the UK every year. The impact on victims' mental health, online confidence, financial security and personal safety is huge.
The Cyber Helpline supports more than 2,000 victims a month, but we are only scratching the surface of cybercrime in the UK. To help the tens of thousands of victims a month we need to grow fast.
As a charity, we have cybersecurity experts who want to volunteer with us, but we don’t have the resources to bring them on board.
Each new volunteer costs us £1,000 a year and during that time will directly help around 60 victims.
The Cyber Community Trust: Enabling victim support through funding a volunteer
The Cyber Community Trust is an opportunity for you to enable us to recruit and train more volunteers to change more lives and beat cybercrime. By donating £1,000, and becoming a member of The Cyber Community Trust, you will enable us to recruit, train and enable one volunteer Helpline Responder.
Over 12 months each volunteer enables us to support hundreds of victims. That is hundreds of individuals, and often their families, who will get expert help recovering from cybercrime and online malicious behaviour.
